Bosch Rotary Mower problem

Mowing my mother's lawn this morning and the "dead man's control" stopped working meaning the only way to turn off the mower was at the mains. Any ideas what has gone wrong , and if so , is it an easy  (very!) diy job.

Sounds as if its a switch fault, not recommended for diy repair unless you understand how to fix it ,AND you can safety test it afterwards.
