I now have a kitchen garden at home as I had to give my allotment up for one reason or another (I really miss it), but I now have lots of vegs growing at home..... but I want to expand my veg garden further forward.  The problem is, the area I want to expand on is a grassed area that my Jack Russell dog regularly uses to toilet.

I clear her mess up within minutes of her doing it but I am very wary of planting here, but I can't seem to find any advice on how long I should wait before planting in an area that was once used by a dog?  Does anyone know anywhere I can get some advice on this please?

(THank you for any replies)

If it is cleared up and pretty soon you will be digging it and covering it with horse manure, what's the worry. If you need to train your dog to go elsewhere just put the droppings in the area you need it to go in, they soon get the idea that that is their toilet area.

If your dog is regularly wormed I can't see any problem, especially since you clear it up fast.

We had the dog from the RSPCA in Oct and since then she has been wormed regularly

Worms would have been my only concern too, but as your doggie is regularly dosed no worries  :happy7:. Doggie poo seems to be broken down by different wildlife quite quickly and as you remove yours anyway i wouldn't think any possible residue would be left by the time your crops are ready. I'd go for it and have a bigger veggie plot to enjoy :icon_cheers:
