Homemade Weedkiller

Hi all, I came across a 'recipe' for homemade weedkiller:

1 Gallon Vinegar
2 Cups  Salt
1/4 Cup Liquid Soap (Fairy Liquid)

I am only looking to use it on paths rather than anywhere I will be growing veg. Has anyone tried this or know if it works?

My neighbour tried it this year. It killed off the top growth, but not the roots, so the creeping buttercup is now lush again along all the beds.

Thought it sounded too good to be true. :)

Bet if I put it on my spuds though they would taste nice ;)
