I have Moonlight and Cobra beans on wigwams and Butterbush squash plants in large containers. How often should I feed them? I'm using chicken manure pellets (a handful dissolved in a 7 litre watering can).

The four squashes in a raised bed (Crown Prince and Tromboncino) are growing like triffids even though they have only been fed once!

For my runners, I buried a whole lot of kitchen waste beneath them, and just give them some fresh compost mulch a few times. They seem to thrive on that!
2012 - Snow in February, non-stop rain till July. Blight and rot are rife. Thieving voles cause strife. But first runner beans and lots of greens. Follow an English allotment in urban France: http://roos-and-camembert.blogspot.com
