Strawberries have done very well this year, and have had enough to make jam, eat every day and give away to neighbours etc.  It doesn't take much to put a smile on my face but today I found this note and my container returned, 'lovely strawberries, thanks'.  That is all it takes to make me happy.  :sunny:  It is good to share, but better to know that the strawberries were enjoyed.  I have been invited to two charity events, strawberries and cream, I will go and put my money in, but I think I have overdosed on strawberries.

My gooseberries (one bush) have not done very well this year, but have just made half a pot of jam.  Don't really mind as not too keen on gooseberries.  Courgettes are starting and blackcurrants going black.  Very exciting time of the year.

Everything seems to be cropping early this year.... eaqrliest strawberries I remember growing (outdoors), I had the first cucumber today (indoors and a Minimunch, but there's a Bangkok about to grow) raspberries and blackcurrants starting, will strip the redcurrants tomorrow.... it's lovely to have :-)

I had loads of strawbs too, 20lb from a 6'x4' bed. Wife made strawberry jam, strawberry sorbet, strawberry cooli and friends and family look like strawberries!

Yes this weekend we had 7kg of strawberries, far more than I have ever had before. 3 litres ice-cream, two lots of jam (neither of which has set well) and given away loads. My tummy is also growing as strawberries have to have sugar and cream and this has been every day for a while....!

Mine are brilliant this year.  The flavour is amazing.

I am really pleased with Malling Centenary.  They were difficult to find, but got the, through Ebay.  Each fruit is like a perfect little shiny jewel.

But someone is stealing them and treading all over the plants while they are doing it, certainly no note of thanks from them.
