While I was washing the some pots...(as one have to do every now and then  :tongue3:))...I was thinking how 'fixated' I am to certain things. I have my favourite coffee and tea cup...ALWAYS have my drinks from those and if OH dare to even think of borrowing, he will get flick of the stick on his fingers.
I have my favourite few pieces of clothing that I would love to ware all the time...BUT...if were to do so..that would mean that I would wear them out too soon.. :BangHead:...they cannot be replaced with 'same' anymore. Although I have shelves of bath towels, I like to use just couple of them for myself.
If I find something from shops that absolutely love..I must go and get few more so I have spare to keep me going. Last time I found shampoo that 'was just right'...I went back to shop and bough whole year's supply in one go...now I'm on my last bottle and I have to find the same again, which I doubt that I have luck with, or find replacement  :BangHead:
My tea cup is in 'last legs'...only one left...and If I break that one I have to learn to drink from something else..unless I find potter who  could replicate it...
Why am I making life so difficult.. :BangHead:
Anybody else 'obsessed' about something.....?

Oh yes, a fave towel which my dog shredded a few days ago, I have a teaspoon that is my 100% best spoon in the world for crab eating, the handle is shaped so that it goes in the thinnest of legs. A wooden spoon that belonged to my Mum, I have used it since being a child and still have it. I have  a favourite "taking to the hospital "cup and saucer, absolutely cannot drink tea from there unless in this cup and made in the ward kitchen. A favourite thinble which is due to be replaced soon as it has worn through. A  vrey small leather bound brown bible with lovely gold etchings, it goes everywhere I do. A dressing gown, the on;y one I really like but boy it has had it really. Some of my baking tins, very very old. My bread tins which never get washed and are beautiful with age, and last but not least my John, he is a bit wrinkly now and AZ has the best part of him but I have had him since I was 16 so think I will keep him.

Favourite spoon!  :icon_cheers: Oh yes..I've got one of those too.. not in my house but in my mother's. She daren't get rid of it as I is one that I always use when I visit her and I have used to eat yogurt since I was little girl. She haven't offered to take it with me and I haven't even asked as it is part of diminishing old set...but maybe one day it is truly mine...hopefully that day is still faaaaar in future.
I've had 'favourite things' in veggies too...before I got to drawn in to this 'searching and saving seeds stuff'...I was actively looking to add in my 'most grow again' list' I fancied a selection of vegetables that I would carry on growing year after year. I didn't get  that far with that selection and although I do have a favourite potato, tomato, cabbage, bean and couple of kales in that list now...all further attempts keeping with just 'old favourites'  have been seriously side tracked.

I only ever drink coffee from one particular mug, I thought everyone did...I have two sets of ordinary 'working' clothes, one on and one in the wash, I thought everyone did.....have two bath towels which just get rotated, both the same of course, I thought everyone did.....
Oops. Obsessive, moi?

I have my own favourite mugs too and if someone makes my coffee in a different mug, I have been known to remove the contents into one of my own specials.

I have favourite spoons too. They are halfway in size between a teaspoon and a dessert spoon and used for eating cereals or soup.  I also prefer to use a teaspoon when eating ice cream or other desserts.  If I am given a dessert spoon, I have to change it.  I

I am also fussy about which knife and fork I prefer to use.  It was a disaster when we went away in the caravan in August as OH had sorted out the cutlery drawer and taken out all my favourites.  I was really annoyed with him.  I put them all back in when we got home.

It's not just what I prefer though.  I have arthritis in my fingers and find it difficult to handle certain bits of cutlery.
