Yes definitely, I'm having difficulty keeping them under control in my garden. I've got the pink variety.

I love them they remind me of my grandmother.   But cannot seem to get them to grow.

Oh dear! it's getting rid of them thats my problem.

What you need is an ice age which dumps several feet of gravel.  Then all you have to do is try growing on top, simple.

Given their tendency to rampage, they can be surprisingly difficult to establish, straggling on, sometimes for several years before getting into their stride (when, as noted, it is a different story). Lots of water during spring and early summer sets them up for a floriferous late summer show (they truly hate to get dry at all when getting going).
