I have been planning a fig for a while, reading about varieties suitable for this are , etc etc and my darling daughter jumped the gun and picked one up at a yard sale.. No name of course.

It is the same shape as a standard rose on a single stem about the thickness of a sharpie pen, about 3 1/2 feet tall, about 6 maybe branches  with a few leaves on and nice shoots at the end, it is not at all bushy.

I have put it in a 15 inch pot as it was top heavy in the one in came in.

Now what do I do with it, my investigation had not got me that far, the only thing I know is they like to have their roots restricted.

I can put it in the greenhouse for the winter, or not, what do you folks think.

As it was from a yard sale and the man selling them grew it  so I presume it will be good for my area but I hate these mystery plants.

Any advice welcome, cos I know nothing from nothing on figs. I got one as a gift when in the UK and stuck it a corner of the garden but we left the next spring.

As it is still quite young, and in a pot, I'd keep it in the greenhouse over winter. Put some bubble wrap round the pot too to reduce risk of rootball freezing.
