Apples

I have a 3 year old espaliered Braeburn apple tree and this year it's produced 7 apples. When would be the right time to pick these? Thanks.

Cup them in your hand-imagine something you would treat gently- then twist gently and if they come off they are ready!
(BTW I do not see your fantastic avatar anymore, is that just on my screen? )

According to my info (The Apple Book) picking time is late October, eating time is January to March

Yep...they are very late ripening variety...so let them dangle on tree as long as possible and pick them just as frosts are becoming threat. Once you have picked them..put them in sealed plastic bag with couple small holes poked through and keep it in cool place for another few weeks until all the 'green cololouring' is starting to change more yellowish tone..that's when they are fully ripe and its best flavour.
It is good practice for next years bumper crop....
