Has anyone grown this variety before?  I have found they have grown very tall with thick stems.  Tatiana's advised not to remove side shoots however there are very few/no flowers forming.  Could it be because I have mulched all my tomatoes with comfrey?

I grew some last year, what a treat.  Usually I'm not a big fan of white/yellow tomatoes but these were very tasty indeed  :toothy10:

I've found that if you don't side-shoot a cordon variety they seem to take longer to come into production, perhaps it's just going a bit mad on growing? They do make strong plants so can imagine it's a bit of a thug unpruned. Are your other varieties flowering and setting fruit ok? Perhaps too much feeding from the comfery?

I've got one growing in the greenhouse this year, I left two main stems, but tried to keep up with side shooting the rest. It's a bit mad and much slower setting fruit than some of the others, perhaps the temps just have been too cool. Although they did well last year despite the dismal summer. I've a couple more out in the poly-tunnel but much younger plants, still quite small but have started to flower, I think sooner than the one in the greenhouse did.

Thanks for your info Goodlife.  I'll persevere.  Funnily they didn't seem to need much side shooting.  Got another prob with tommies.  Bought Gartenperle a couple of years ago and although I did about a couple of dozen plants, gave them all away.  Anyway I was under the impression that they were container/hanging basket tomatoes.  No way a hanging basket would cope with mine unless they had a very strong fixing.  They have VERY sturdy stems and growing strongly.  Wonder if Premier Seeds Direct got the labelling wrong.  Will be interesting to see what I get  :happy7:
