Hurricane here today with over 5 inches of rain so far and not allowed to drive, a good day to look at garden pictures and found this site crammed full of flowers with those intense colors the Alaskans get due to their day-length whereas ours wash-out. Scroll down to see all the photos rather than clicking on the titles which show up blank

Hoping you aren't getting too much storm damage Grannie-Annie....thinking of everyone over the pond tonight.

There's a definite amount of excitement as hurricanes approach: getting food and water in, bringing in anything that can sail around in the wind, getting laundry and cleaning caught up in case we lose power for an extended time. But this storm is very odd because it is huge, causing massive flooding, trees and electric down, sadly many deaths. Our neighbors are away for a funeral and are caught on the other side of a mountain by a heavy snowstorm- in October, also strange. We'll find out tomorrow just how bad the damage is. New York City will be into a major problem if the subways flood. Thank you for asking.

Trust you and yours are safe. Following the storm on the news and my heart goes out to those affected.

Such beautiful pictures. Really have made my day looking at those. I doubt I'll ever have such an awesome garden but I can dream :happy7:

Hope you are ok.

Been watching the news.  Hope you are ok.  Saw the satellite pic on Sunday with the huge cloud stream coming straight down from the arctic and being drawn into the storm.   Looks like the storm will not move away quickly.   So many people I think it is nearing 6.5 million homes without electric will be a huge problem.
