Was given a subscription as a Xmas pressie to Grow your Own mag.  First copy arrived last week (Feb issue) which included packs of veg seeds.  Quite a few "free" offers included in it.  Very nice layout and nicely written for us amateurs  Haven't learnt anything new though.  Prefer A4A.  You can't half buy a lot of seeds for £20

I have a subscription to GW, and enjoy it a lot  look forward to it well worth the money i think. Also lots of freebies + discount off of most seed company's 10%.
I have had it for about 4/5years now & of course Monty Don is in there with excellent articles.

I have a subscription to Gardeners World Magazine, bought through Tesco 9 months ago.  I really look forward to receiving it and as Rosebud says there are often freebies and discounts.  I will be sending Tesco vouchers for another subscription when the present on comes to an end.

In the April or May editions of the magazine, there is a card and a booklet that gives two for the price of one entry to many gardens in the uk.  Even before I took out the subscription through Tesco, I would always look out for and buy the magazine with that card and booklet.

£5 of Tesco vouchers will get you a £15 token for T&M's website and you can use up to 3 tokens in one transaction.  You still pay the P&P but you can make it work well if they have a special offer or you have your eye on something fancy (i.e. pricey) they are selling.

How lovely
I used to do that when i shopped at tescos.

I think the main difference is that the gardeners world has a lot of flowers and garden design/readers gardens. And the grow your own is more focused on productivity and things to eat.

It is a lovely thing to have a mag each month and both have free seeds etc.
I save mine and so each month i have a stack of oldones to read to remind me to do all those jobs ive been neglecting.
Good luck choosing

My son has bought me the Gardener's World mag now for Christmas for the past 2 years. I just got my 3rd year subscription last week  :blob7: and I really look forward to it arriving. Sit down on a quiet day with a  :coffee2: and I read it from front to back...including all the ads  :sunny:

Don't get me wrong I am absolutely delighted with my Grow Your Own mag - just don't know how I am going to resist the offers for plants I never even knew I needed.

I like Grow your Own mag and also Kitchen Garden - in fact I prefer KG in style. I try not to buy them any more as once you have a years worth they can get a bit repetitive but I still love them and sometimes treat myself!
How many vouchers do you have? Perhaps you could get more than one!

Have £22.50 pence worth of vouchers so its only one of the other i am afraid and have saved another £3.50 of vouchers not yet to be issued.

But hubbie wants to use £10 towards the euro tunnel offer (£10 tesco vouchers = £40 euro tunnel )

decisions decisions :)

Can why don't you buy 1 of the grow it mags just to get a taste of what it's like. I got it last year with Tesco vouchers & found it interesting. They do an article on hens each month so I like that. The free seeds will probably be worth the cost of the mag or even more.

I have both magazines (GW is a xmas present each year from my sister) and the other subscription is with tesco vouchers.

If you are into veg and fruit growing then Grow It mag is the one one for you, however if you are into flowers, shrubs etc then GW is the one for you.  I find that there is only a small bit in GW dedicated to growing veg compared to the whole lot in Grow It mag.

Hope that helps.
