I have been leaving my peppers to ripen as long as I can but with the threats of frosts this weekend I thought I had best harvest them before losing them.

At least with peppers you can eat them green so no problems there then!

Well for starters I will be giving quite a few to my son and daughter to feed their families, the grandkids love them!

With the balance we will stuff  the 'Blocky' ones and freeze them. ( Still got some of last years crop in the freezer)

The 'carrot' shaped ones will be sliced in half along their length and frozen ready for roasting! ( They are beautiful when roasted!)

The mis-shapes will be cut up, bagged,  and frozen for stir fries, stews etc

Thats one thing about peppers, unlike some other veg they still taste OK even after freezing!

BD-Nick- The long ones are 'Romano' I think ???

The Yellow ones are from seed I collected from a pepper straight off Tesco veg racks!

The reds ones are Californian Wonder! ( New to me this year) I quite like the results I have had with them considering the terrible season it has been!

I have another variety which were in short supply this year ( Didn't grow enough plants) that I have named  'Calahonda'

This is simply because the original seed came out of a  giant pepper I bought in a supermarket in Calahonda in Spain a few years ago!

I have already selected the best fruit from that lot  for fresh seed for my collection.

So bring next year on I am ready!!

Very impressive! Did you have them planted in growbags or pots or the ground?
