Last nights storms & mega heavy rain has caused damage to a few of my Kale plants, the stems are almost broken right through.
I know squash plants I have grown in the past have managed to survive stem damage like this but will the Kale be able to carry on growing????
I've never grown Kale before so have no idea how truly hardy they are. The damaged plants were standing really straight/strong over 2 feet tall on Saturday now they are lying flat on the soil. It must have been the rain because they are covered in a solid net structure & in raised beds so no animal can get to them.
There are about 10 usable leaves on each damaged plant so if they won't recover I can at least have a few meals from them.

Yes..they should still sprout out new stems bellow the breaking points...but I would clear out any growth that is truly broken, they will just die off.  Get that water boiling and start cooking! :tongue3:
