sweet potatoes

hi all, has anyone tried to dig up their sweet potatoes yet. I grew mine under a poly tunnelish thing this year and now the foliage is going over. Ready yet? I grew them a while ago but they were quite small,but tasted fine.I dont want to dig them up and be disappointed.Again!
