Two legged pest

It's our flower and produce show on 1 Sept and last year my red onions won the over 250g class and the waitrose manager gave me the prize of a bottle of champagne for then as his favourite exhibit.
This years onions were coming along quite well and on Friday I could see about 4/5big ones but still too soon to  so I nervously left them. Of course the five biggest were gone in Monday. Obviously someone doesn't want my onions in the running. I can guess who it  . but no way of proving it

Our show is small friendly one. I can think of only one individual who takes very seriously, which makes that person my chief suspect.

More than pests I would say... simply thieves.

And, even in weather cooler than recent times, enough to make your blood boil.  >:(
