I'm not an expert on this and no doubt someone who is can give you advice from their own experience but this link is a great standby http://homepage.ntlworld.com/alex.martin2/Prop/Fuchsia.html

Softwood cuttings early summer, I put 5 or 6 around a 3" pot,  pinch the tops out as soon as they've rooted. Any multi-purpose compost will do

it is actually hard for fuscha cuttings NOT to take-harwood/ softwood/ anywood - they take at any time of year in my experience- in water too- not quite as rampant as willow but they take very easily- plants for free

Hi,
Standard fushias for beginnier has to be Phyllis strong growing plant. Then on to Swingtime, Dark Eyes  even the minitures like Tom Thumb or try the upright flowering like Jublie Walsz..

I have just bought one today to go on to be a standard Sunset Boulevard large flowers but stunning flowers.

Oh yes I went to the GC today to have a look and they were pinching the growing tips out of the fushias they had got in got a bag full of cuttings for nothing good size ones dont know what I have but hey thats half the fun.
So moto if you dont ask you dont get. wish me luck
