Square foot gardening.

Hi all, has anyone any experience of "square foot gardening" i have turned a section of my garden approx` 36ft x 9ft (324 sq ft) into a raised bed and will have a 8ft x 6ft green house on it.
                 Taking potatoes out of the agenda that size bed "should"? give enough space to keep a household well stocked with veg` and salads (i`m told) - is this the case?
                  We do have a council plot the size of a tennis court but find i`m burdened with work after my own work (builder,roofer) and overloaded with surplus veg/fruit etc

                            Thoughts, advice please,

Yes I tried it,twice. For most things it didn't work for me . If I used regular soil they mostly didn't grow well. If I used the soil mix that the originator of the method advised  they grew much better, The better growing stuff however was stuff that didn't take up a lot os space or need compacted soil. It grew most small slad stuff OK..

I would say with no reservations that overall no it was not a good idea.

It is a US idea and probably works fine in the part of the US that created it, but here in Western canada which is very like the UK..it was a no for me.
