Have just dug up my new potatoes, they are very large for new potatoes and are split and have white blisters on them, any idea what is wrong with them?

The blisters are scab and the split is from where the tubers have set from a spell of dry weather and thrn grown again. I've had it on my kestrel.

They're Rocket adn you should have lifted them at 8 weeks..... they're really meant for glasshouse production sowing in January/February in pots for ultra-earlies....

They won't taste of anythign much when they're the size you've got them too.... Swift are a little better (and not quite so early), for regualr first-earlies that behave like first earlies then Lady Chrystl and Vanessa seem popular, along with a dozen or so others, plus Pentland Javelin is good for getting you decent baking/roasting spuds earlier than most can....

Could be swollen lenticels on the skins surface, caused by wet growing conditions.

You have what is called lenticels on the potato these help the potato to breath, if they are are grown in over wet contition the lenticels get blocked and corky white substance apears around them
Another problem could be scab caused by to much lime in the soil.
Either is nothing to worry about
