Bought Marshmarvel.  Like them, very early, great flavour, holds fruit well above the ground.

But almost no runners.  Any suggestions about propagating them please

Seeds?

I sowed some packet seeds last year and now have a small collection of TINY plants.  So it should work but you will need the patience of Job.

Alternatively, just make sure you get every single runner.  Maybe they will produce a few more as the summer  ::) progresses.  And buy a few more plants.

You can divide them and if there are no roots on the pieces, put them in a propagator like if they were cuttings.Take off the flowers buds and the older leaves.
I do it that way for' Mara des bois'.Excellent results.

I've grown strawberries from seeds adn it does take a while for them to get going.... most of my plants are now 3 years old adn this year is the first that I'm getting a crop.... , would a leaf cutting work?

It was very dry last year so perhaps they will produce more this year.

I have grown supermarket strawberries  from seed and this year (year 3) like you Chris they are fruiting Bought them in August so was hoping for August fruit.  Nice taste do not think they are going to oblige in August,

Many thanks John I will try and divide one plant.

Postage rather expensive with Marshalls.

Been reading up about dividing strawberries. Seems as if you can use rhisomes for cuttings except I did not know strawberries had rhisomes. ???

My Mara des Bois are producing plenty of runners by the way, I pegged some down this morning. I nipped off the early flowers if that had any effect or not.
