I know we can edit our own posts, well for a while then the option goes away but I don't understand how someone else can edit our posts.

I wrote one a few days ago and later noticed it had a comment added that I didn't write. It said edited by and the name of the person..

How can this happen please?

Own post can be edited for a short while I think approx 30 mins. No one should be able to edit your post although Mods and I guess Dan have the option to. Hope this helps, please pm if problems  :) If a mod does edit a post there will be an edited by note on it.

Hi Jeannine,

I think you're referring to one of your posts that had a modification by pumpkinlover? Jayb is right, only Dan and mods can edit posts and I'm willing to bet that pumpkinlover hit the modify button instead of the quote or reply button without realising (they are all so close together!) I've almost done it myself on many occasion :)

I have only had one editted and the mod explaned the change. I have however lost posts entirely.  I though perhaps I had just forgot to actually post them, but with one I had two versions of A4A open and the much older screen clearly showed the post.  It was nothing at all contentious.
