balmoral squash - how to grow

Hi I am new to this site and to growing veg. At a plant sale I bought a balmoral squash which has to stems growing in one pot , both are healthy and of equal size. do I split them up or plant as one?
I have put some pictures in my gallery of my plot - although quite large most is full of fruit trees and perennials. you can see in on picture a large water tank - I want to grow the squash in front of this tank and give it some leaning supports so it can grow up about two feet and possibly scramble over the top of the tank.
It will get full sun here in the afternoons.
Is this the right thing to do? I think this is quite a compact squash so ideal for my limited space.

Hi Nora, yes it is a compact plant, a patty pan variety, treat it just as you would a courgette or any other summer squash. It will not store. Seperate the two plants  and give them about three feet apart if planting in the garden.

It will not scramble, it won't grow a vine it will be an open bush type, just like a courgette, it just needsa space about 3/ 4 feet to grow in.

It is a good summer squash but pick when smalll 4 inches no bigger.

Thanks Jeanine i will put it in front of the tank, well one of them  and hope to find space for the other one. I think tomorrow I will put the to plants in separate pots a little bigger than they are now,

Nora don't plant ot too close. It will get bigger on all sides with about a four foot spread. The leaves will grow from the centre like a rosette. I t prefers full sun.
