Last year I grew some asparagus (Mary Washington) plants from the seeds out of Jeannine's BIG parcel...and for my delight I can already see tiny little 'heads' poking through the soil...THEY SURVIVED their first winter!!! ;D
Last summer was so dry and although I did my best and tried to provide enough water so that the little ones get their 'feet in', they didn't do much growth at all and I was doubtful if they would make it through the winter.
I already started to price up some 'roots' to replace the losses...but there is no need for that now.. ;D

So..BIG thank you Jeannine!
..these plants are already providing so much pleasure..growing them has been so easy and I'm looking forward to eating some spears in (only) 2 years time.. ::)

Oh,,don't give up with them as yet..mine are only about 2mm above soil and even then I had to look hard to see them..luckily I did marked the each plant with small stick so I knew where to look.
Now that I gave them bit of 'top dressing' they are covered again.
You propably won't see anything for few weeks yet.. ;)
