Planted shallots, then it snowed

I planted my shallots on Saturday. It was a very windy, but warm day. Then yesterday it snowed.

Might I lose my shallots now? Should I protect them? help  :-\

It might even stop the birds finding the tops to pull them out for long enough for the roots to take hold!

Ooo - we not get snow, but see it in the hills/mountains - no snowball fights  :(

I should've said that, shouldn't I. It didn't settle (I hope it doesn't), it's just really cold. brrr.
