You may have read my post few weeks ago praising the NHS. Yesterday I had the 2nd cataract removed and of course all went well. The staff at the clinic are such a great lot. Woohoo!! hopefully in 6 weeks time I will be able to get the car out of the garage and regain my independence. My son has been an angel running me about (virtually no near public transport).
Best wishes to you all for Christmas and the New Year.

So pleased for you Lorna. Will you still have to wear glasses or not?
When I get old I don't want people thinking
"What a sweet little old lady"........
                             I want em saying
"Oh Crap! Whats she up to now ?"

Thanks Shirl. Not sure about glasses until I have my eye test. Has definitely improved my lazy eye (first one to be done) as I suddenly realised I can read any wording on TV better without my glasses but had to put them on to read small print. Maybe after 56 years I may have to wear glasses just for reading!!

Such good news for you Lorna, you must be delighted. Merry Christmas to you & yours.

I had mine done in june/july 2010 and have had good results.  I have found I could do without glasses except for reading and driving at night.  However, in some cases you can have cells regrow on the lens capsule, that is left in your eye.  This has happened with me , mostly in one eye and my vision has gone cloudy again in that eye.  This is simple to solve with a zap from a Lazer taking a fews seconds.  I am due to have this done on the 3rd Jan!

But all in all - a very good outcome!  I hope yours causes no problems!

Nice to hear! My father in law had both of his donea couple of years ago and he has never regretted it, now at 87 he has terrific clear sight.
2012 - Snow in February, non-stop rain till July. Blight and rot are rife. Thieving voles cause strife. But first runner beans and lots of greens. Follow an English allotment in urban France: http://roos-and-camembert.blogspot.com

So good to hear Lorna.  Must have been difficult to have to ask for lifts during the run up to Christmas.  Glad all went well.
