Has anyone made pots out of vermiculite, peat and concrete?

I'm tempted. Found a large sturdy bamboo modern hanging  lampshade in our crawl space about 2' across which I'm tempted to line with plastic and wire screening etc.

This is not the time of year to be thinking about such things but it would be more fun than cleaning out the crawl space by far...

What has been your experience with the process?

I've done a planter with similar mixture..part not using vermiculate..just sand, cement and peat.
I did mine in ground..dug a hole the size of the planter..placed a smaller plastic container into hole standing on few pieces of piping (for dranage holes)and all the space in between the hole and container was filled with the mixture and left to set for a couple of weeks..once set solid I lifted it and painted the outer surfaces with yogurt and moss paste..this is where old food processor or blender comes handy.. ;) ;D
I had to do couple of 'takes' before I got the 'filling in' bit right. My planter was rather large..so I found out that it was easier to do the bottom first..fill the mixture around the piping and then place the plastic container on top..placing some rock in to weigh it down and then fill the side spaces.
I also put few strips of chicken wire on bottom and sides to give the planter more strenght.
