Grandma

In all my 47 years of growing runners, this year has been far and away the best. I started picking on June 25 and have just picked these last few today! Well worth all the hours of watering throughout the growing season! ;D

Last picking?

They look dandy, Grandma! Not even seeds showing. Dontcha just luv green beans? Sad when the season ends.
And your colander is so clean by the way! ;D

Thanks GrannieAnnie :-* I just can't believe I've had almost four months continuous picking of my favourite green veg!

Clean colander! ;D Aren't you an observant lot on here! Once, posting another pic, I was even complimented on my clean fingernails!  :-* I shall have to examine my 'props' carefully from now on in case I let the standard slip!

Did you have to sow them repeatedly or are they from one sowing? I'm wondering if I'd be better off sowing twice rather than trying to keep the Spring sown ones going. My purples give out in Sept.

GrannieAnnie, usually I put one plant and one seed to each cane. This year I forgot to keep any seeds back, sowed them all at once and put out two plants per cane. So, yes, all from one sowing - which makes the long cropping time all the more surprising! Mine generally give out in September, too!

I've just picked the last 3 runners and a couple of french beans and chopped them up in with my Salmon.    ;D
MAY THE CORN BE WITH YOU.
