As I'm making this so much at the moment, I thought I might share it with everyone.  "Hooshmi" is a recipe from my childhood.  I remember my mum linked it with the the young Princess Margaret and googling the word gives some interesting info, more related to savoury food than puddings!  Anyway, we have always called this very simple dish hooshmi, and it is quite simply delicious.

Hooshmi
Start with Bramley apples, one per person, or one for two people if they are big enough. Peel and core, then food process.  I remember I used to do them laboriously on a little flat metal hand grater which produced the necessary pulp. With our food processor I have to add a little water to get it to pulp properly. Be patient as this is important.  It needs to be a purée really, to be nice and juicy.
Put directly into individual dessert bowls ( or you could do it all in one dish).  Then sprinkle over some really good quality dark brown sugar, eg Molasses or Muscovado.  I know you can't sprinkle it, but just dump it in clumps and then lick your fingers! Scatter over some raisins, and finish with a reasonable sprinkling of porridge oats.  That's it, very simple. Don't worry about the apple going brown, that is just part of the dish.

I do something similar..but I grate my apples and the porridge oats, raisins and brown sugar....and chopped nuts yum..are all mixed in and left to 'soak' up the juices over night. I do it in the evening and have it as a breakkie.
I call mine as 'wet and fresh muesli'.. ::) ;D
