Hi

At the begining of the growing season my pumpkins/squash went from 4 leaf stage to flower and just stalled well i planted them and took the flowers off and they have been growing very slowly ever since.

Noticed today one of the plants (i have to said i had given up on them and stopped checking them) has perked up loads of flowers and fruit thats the size of grapes.

Whats the chances of these being ok and keep growing so i might get a fruit i can eat? I think the plant is a butternut squash but not 100% sure.

Hate to say it but it's really too late now. The squash I am harvesting now were fruiting back in July and August, at the same rate it will be freezing by then so you won't harvest anything.
There's always next year!
2012 - Snow in February, non-stop rain till July. Blight and rot are rife. Thieving voles cause strife. But first runner beans and lots of greens. Follow an English allotment in urban France: http://roos-and-camembert.blogspot.com
