Boston squash

Hi everone, I grew these for the first time this year & they are huge (bigger than a large pumpkin)....much bigger than I expected as they are supposed to be a medium sized hubbard. They have hardened off on the windowsill & are now a deep orange colour with very hard skin & a hollow sound when tapped. As they are so huge I was wondering if they will still be good to eat?

I grew a few new squash plants this year just for fun.....thank goodness I did as none of my usual winter staple ordinary butternuts have produced any fruit this year! But now I have no idea of the best ways to cook the newbies ;D x jane

They are a medium sized Hubbard, a big Hubbard is vast (100lbs+).... we're just not used to proper big squash in this country :D... They keep quite well and are a bit of an effort to get into and taste really good once they've been stored for a couple of months....

They will be fine and can store for ages...
