Minipop corn tassells/silks and when to harvest?

I read a recent post on here (cannot find it again) that said to harvest Minipop 5 days after silks show.

My problem is I don't know my silks from my tassels :) I have  a silky spike appearing at top of the plants BUT also have wee tasselly things appearing on some of the plants, further down, where there is a slight bulge I think will be the minipop fruit???

When do I pick...is the silks the topgrowth or the funny tasselly jobs further down? The stems are not really bulging much to suggest corns in there?

Hector, you have it backwards, the tassle is the top thing..(the daddy)..and the SILKS come from the side thingies, (the mummies).LOL

Pick them no more  than 5 days from seeing the SILKS start to emerge.

Lol....pretty bad not knowing my mummies from my daddies :) Thanks for this,

So pick within 5 days when I see a mummy...if there is only one Mummy showing do I harvest whole plant.?

I will be interested in how Minipop does...I might go back to Earlybird :)

Hi Hector
just harvest the ones with silks on and leave the plant- it will give you 8-15 little cobs.
