Hi all,
I have moved a blackberry bush (thornless) that popped up this year to a new location. There was quite a bit of root on it, it is a runner from an established bush. Should I cut down the 3 canes that have grown, & sacrifice next years crop to help the plant establish better for the future?
                                            Thanks Adrian.

Having transplanted it I would cut it down to about six leaves... to reduce transpiration while it settles in... it will probably put up a small shoot if it is happy so you might get a few next year.  :)

Yep..agree with Saddad...by leaving the long shoots to struggle..that may delay the proper cropping for several years.
