Ahhh...I wonder if this was the pea that Monty Don in GW was trialing this summer.. ::)..something to 'trial' again.. ;D..dear Santa... ;D

Does that mean they remain purple when they are cooked?

Nice thing with peas you can save the seed.

Peas are green within the pod.  The pods make a crackin' coloured wine.   8)   Cheers,    Tony.

I thought they were mangetout.  Other types the purple pods turn green when you cook them.

Hmm never made pea pod wine, are they ok at the same time the peas are ready? or do you pick them when younger? I always think of James Herriot when pea pod wine is mentioned :D
