Graceland, have you grown Marfonas before?  I decided on those this year, but couldn't find any when it came to planting, so settled for Carlingford instead, which we are digging as we need them at the moment. They are a good medium size for jackets, roast and chips, very pleased with taste and yield. Would Marfonas do the same job?

Ok this is what i do now i plant wait till flowers then start lifting as i need  there a good all rounder cooking wise so the wife says    i dig as new  till about now then lift and bag um

Thanks, will try to source a little earlier next year, although the Carlingford are proving very versatile, got the thumbs up from 7 year old granddaughter today. 'Grandads jacket potatoes are grrreat! I buy them, help plant them and cook them, but suddenly they're 'Grandads' potatoes because they dig them up together for a meal!  ::)
