My cauli's have started to go to seed and some are going purple! They are meant to be autumn giants and are about 6 inches in diameter and have been really tasty, it's just I thought that being giants I could leave them in the ground to get bigger rather than have cauli's every night at the beginning of August. it's the purple that get's me are they still edible?

hmm not sure I think the dry weather could be to blame. - or they are not what they should be- or they may go to seed quickly! I would get them eaten if they are nice.

Someone may come along with more info with luck ;)

The purpler is not uncommon, not a disease, but to prevent it protect the heads by wrapping the leaves over them, break a big leaf and fold it over the white head, uncovered  it is more likely, yes they are edible but it will show up more when cooked.

When God blesses you with a multitude of seeds double  the blessing by sharing your  seeds with other folks.

in future you could try one of self blanching varieties.
