Cheap motion sensor spy camera?

If you see my other post my Damson has been watered with weedkiller by someone plus a lot of other mysterious stuff happening designed to irritate and annoy and I'm really getting feed up plus theft of my globe artichokes. I was talking with a similarly affected friend on site and we were wondering about some form of spy camera. There are a few available but it needs to be cheap as it might be stolen itself!
Has anyone tried any and have any advice?

I got one last year to see what was taking plants from my pond. Apparently the light is "invisible" to animals or just doesn't bother them, I'm sure a human intruder would see it immediately especially as a small red light also comes on when it's filming. It would need to be well tucked away.

I got mine from http://www.flyonthewall.uk.com/ - still going well and have got some interesting night shots of foxes and owls. After sales was good when I had some battery issues.
Location: North East Spain - freezing cold winters, boiling hot summers with a bit of fog in between.

Could you stick tape or blutack over the red light?

Yep, that would work for the red light but I believe the light from the camera itself would be pretty visible. I guess if you could get it high enough and out of the eye line it might be ok. They're not that cheap but interesting to have to see what happens when you're not about.

Kea,

I have similar problems to you.

it depends what you mean by "cheap".

I have a couple of different cameras from flyonthewall.

If you want to pm me I will give you the pros and cons

Hello,

you can get Invisible IR Cameras these days which are designed to catch humans. They are a little more expensive, but as you say theievs and vadals will be able to see the normal IR lights.

Looks like Fly on the Wall do some wildlife cameras with Invisable IR http://www.flyonthewall.uk.com/hd-infrared-wildlife-camera-dvr-with-motion-sensor-12mp-vga-16gb-invisible-ir-p-475.html.

Good luck with catching the idiots!
