Toadstools !

With all the rain we've had over the past week i now have toadstools coming up through the straw round the strawberries and in quite a few other places too - is the soil now TOO wet?   We don't have very good drainage so we dug trenches round the beds and you can see the water pooling there, but i would have thought by doing this is gives the growing area better drainage as it is higher - sort of a raised bed, but maybe it's made no difference at all!  Either too dry or too damned wet, just can't get it right!  Getting very frustrated I am!
