Apple tree

    Our apple tree has brown spots on the leaves and a couple of the apples have got them too!!  Any ideas what it is and what to do Please.

  what would I do without A4A?

  I get over one problem then find another!!!

Apple scab..too late to do anything now..if it is that, it is nothing serious, usually.
You can spray against scab, but is is done during spring.
In autumn..try to rake the fallen leaves off as much as you can..it will reduce the the effect next year.

I would leave them on..
Would you tell us more about your tree? Is it young? Do you know the variety?
Light case of scab doesn't make the fruit uneatable..just unsightly..
Scab is common thing with apples and there is no way of getting away from it.
Some varieties are resistant to scab, they will still get it but with less effect.

I've use garlic water spray on a tree that was really badly effected with scab, with the good results.
But it need to be applied several times during spring...
Now I just don't bother..bit of scab don't hurt and I don't need to have all my fruit spotless.. ;)

    I'm not sure what variety it is bought it from Lidl last year. It only had a couple of apples last year but has lots on this year. At the moment only two apples are affected.

  When should I spray?
And do you buy garlic water spray or make your own.

I grow good radishes though and my lettuces look ok too!!!  :) :) :)

If it's only a small tree, disposing of the dead leaves should be practical, if you're worried.

    Thank you.  Have been down there today not any worse took the worst leaves off and brought them home to burn. We are not allowed bonfires on the site.
