Spring is in the air

We went to a garden center in a nearby village today and got some shrubs and things for the lottie. Loaded the bikes up with goodies, bags full with tall things sticking out and stuff on the front rack too. On the way home in the rain and wind I saw a sign 'Free horse manure' by a stack of bags. I never knew horse poo was that heavy. We tied a big bag full on the back rack of my bike and I wobbled the rest of the way home. I guess in the morning when I get my bike out to go to work I'll be greeted by the smell of country, lovely, heehaw.

Just now, I looked out the window, the city green workers were piling compost around the bases of the trees in my street. One worker shoveled it out of the trailer that had a giant pile of steaming compost and another spread it around, releasing even more steam. I wonder if I could have bribed them to take a load to the lottie hehehe.

Sure signs of spring.
PS. I guess I have to let the horse manure sit around for a while before I can use it huh? I'm sure it's fresh.

sounds like bliss.

Us on the other hand went to spend a couple of hours up there with the kids (last time we went we were there more than 3 hours with the most delightful children you've ever met), after about 20 mins they were all screaming and fighting, and nothing was quite right. So we gave up having been there less than an hour and took our picnic home with us!  It was also cold and grey which probably didnt help their mood.

Can't win them all I spose.
