Took the first pictures of my allotments today to place in my pictorial diary.

I have to say that in all my years of gardening this is the most peculiar.

Normaly I am trying to keep my seedlings warm at this time of year whereas this year I am trying to keep them cool!

Because the seedling roots are quite small and the top half inch of the compost is constantly drying out I am having to water up to three times per day where normally it would be more like once in three days, if at all!

I have lost loads of plants due to this drying out but I guess it is all sent to try us!

What I am more worried about is what has May got to offer?

Frosts? Snow? I have had hailstones do a lot of damage on the 2nd of June one year and lost my runner beans once on the 31st May.

I don't know about global warming but I do suspect there is climate change!

It is ten year since I accumulated all the data on my website and it is my plan to update this data with the contents of my diaries in the last ten years.

It will be interesting to see if the last ten years differ from the previous ten years.

I suspect there might might be a couple of days difference but not radical amounts, so I will have to wait and see!

The pictures;

Inside the greenhouse;

Potatoes chitting will possibly be planting these out within the next couple of days

Shallots and onions, hope to put these in as well over the next few days;

The garlic seems to be on time!

Looking up plot 2;

Looking up plot 1;

Looking across both plots;

The fruit bed;

If the flowers on the treess indicate the state of the crop I am in for a bumper year

Inside the communal tunnel ( I tend the middle bed);

Very nice photos of your plot  :)
I keep a gardening dairy too and have done so for the past 11 years Its supprising how much things change over the years and also its a good point of reference

Well done for keeping the diary going - I always intend to make copious notes and then I forget!
I am totally envious of your soil - my plot is on a railway cutting and there is no topsoil - just solid clay all the way down to the gravel.
Moved to Portugal - ain't going back!
