I had an accident last Christmas I fell and broke my femur, so its been very hard for me this year, and I have not got around to planting my earlies.
What I want to know can anyone tell me is it to late to get them in ,if I plant them in the following week , also the ground is bone dry,  should I water the pots in .  thanks for any help.
I am so late because I have had to try weed the plot because the weeds got out of hand.
   Thanks June.

Tee Gee

Sorry to hear about your injury.

The good news is you have plenty of time yet to get them in.

I don't normally put my earlies in until the end of April (and sometimes later)

Regarding watering I don't think there is any need if you soil is well prepared i the first place.

I never water my potatoes all year long I just leave them to nature and it has worked well for me over the last forty years or so!

Take it easy and watch that leg!

Thank you TeeGee, I will have a go at getting them in next week, I can plant some one day, and the rest a day later, I have to pace myself at the moment.
   Lol June.

Not too late, but if the top soils dry no probs, but if its dry when you dig down 6/8 inches then I personly would give it a good soaking, TG has his own way by preparing the ground, but the area I live in go long periods without rain, we haven't reached the dry spell yet, but had no proper rain since mid Feb.   :-\
MAY THE CORN BE WITH YOU.

Thank you Cornkev.
I don't know yet how dry the ground is, will find out next week, when I go to my plot, but we have not had much rain here in B''ham  for a while
