toilet rolls

hi,i have several things growing in toilet rolls, can i plant them straight into the ground or do i have to remove them 1st? :-\

With about ten times as much water as you originally think.....

Try to make sure none of the cardboard is standing proud of the soil as it can act as a wick and draw all the water out of the compost in the roll and check the seedlings... :) I trim back the "top" if the compost level has settled down in the tube...

Agree have to water heavily otherwise roots won't get out in the open soil.
Last year peeled off loo roll from a few runner beans and left the rest in place - no difference in growth I could tell.

I agree about watering.  I prefere to peel mine off in case I am not there to water.
Have we confused you?

They fall apart anyway long before you have to plant them in the soil.
