Does anybody here know where I can purchase clay seakale forcing pots at a price that won't break the bank?

or

Do people use ordinary pots instead?

I've never forced seakale..but would rhubarb pots be tall/large enough?
Or ornamental clay pots..those tall and narrow sort?..the bottom hole could always be blocked with brick or stone

They are hideously expensive Bill... I'd use a wilkos £5 Dustbin... upside down of course..  :)

Put a small bin over them. I do have a seakale forcing pot - probably the only one on the site - but unfortunately it's broken. Of course,if you want to force the stuff and not just blanch it, you have to pile manure round it to warm it up.

mine are in pots and brought into the greenhouse and I just use upturned pots - will be doing it next week hopefully - might think about transplanting them this year but have lost them before now - a yummy veg to anyone unfamiliar

Thanks for all of the advice.

Just about to tuck into our first picking  :)

I just use a bucket. It's worth checking for slugs every few days.
