A frequent visitor outside my kitchen window of late,,, he is waiting for the other birds to come to the feeder... wish he was a vegetarian... qahtan

Wonderful picture qahtan.  We've seen one of our native sparrow hawks only once here in 28 years and didn't have the camera to hand. Same sentiments about being a vegetarian but thats the way of nature  :(.

Should have asked why in the recipe section?  ;D

Perhaps she thought it was game pie ;D

Got them back now to put some tread on them

we had a sparrow hawk kill a wood pigeon in the garden two weeks ago. Took it 4 days to eat it.

pigeon's are the only bird I wish THE hawk would take, as they the pigeon's have already broken the TV antenna once ( we now have cable)
but you get about 15 of the pigeon's on the Ariel and it can't take that too often.......
It really likes doves of which we have lots, and they are so slow, but he will take any thing,,, blue jays, red cardinals, chickadees, finches,  etc....
