Compost for Limes and Olives?

I have got a Lime and 2 small Olive trees (well they will be one day) in small pots in the conservatory. I want to re-pot them for the new season but am loath to pay silly money for little bags of 'special' compost.
Does anyone know how I can make my own compost suitable for these plants?
Thanks

I repotted my 4 ft lemon tree last year with a mixture of ericaceous compost and topsoil

I've had a few olive trees in the last few years. I think I'm right in saying that they aren't really that fussy. Mine have all been put in multi-purpose. I give them abit of tom feed now & again. The first one I had gave me a small jar full, but that was when we had the last 'hot' summer. In contrast I got one last year.
