What do I replant with---------?

Hey Ho,
I've cut my wisteria down. I've found that it is high maintenance for a beautiful 3-4 weeks & after <15 years it's time for a change.
As it faced south, I thought of a desert red grape & the wires are already in place. I grew a white vine some years ago so I understand what's involved.

Any other edible suggestions guys?

Kiwi... need a lot of space so the site sounds ideal... it will also appreciate the heat from the wall...  :-\

and apparently the flowers are very fragrant... according to ACE

wouldn't a grape be as much work as a wisteria? nice idea though to have an edible option

How about an espaliered apricot if your wall is south facing?
