I'm still holding back for a couple of weeks...  :-\

I think I'll have to hold on a couple of months if previous winters are anything to go by.  have you already removed bubble wrap to give extra light Tee gee?  I daren't do that here yet.  Lots of heavy frosts and snow still to come.

I didn't actually bubble wrap this year so nothing to take down.

I did cover the roof with polythene though, but mainly to keep rainwater out.

My greenhouse is a timber one and it is knocking on a bit (like me) so the seals in the joints are not as good as they were and rain was getting in at the openers and ridge.

So thats one job on my summer list........seal the joints with silicone

My new greenhouse heater is ticking over nicely it has kept my greenhouese at 2°C (37°F) all winter I tweaked it up a bit last night to 4°C (40°F) now that I have a few seeds on the go!.

That and my hotbed are working just as I want it!

In the last six days (since sowing) my Lupins, Lobelia, Geraniums,Kelsae and Red brunswick onions have all germinated.

Not too happy with my Chrysants though! might have lost them to the winter weather, should have put them in the greenhouse rather than the coldframe.

But we are all wiser in hindsight. If they don't come I will just have to grow a few more veg in their place to fill the ground.

and that is the state of play for me, how about you?

Not putting in bubble wrap seems very optimistic to me Tee Gee.

I've got as far as complilng an order for seeds from Plant World and Seeds of Italy but not yet sending them off.  I've been thinking about hoeing the raised beds in the veggie patch and spreading some compost but am not in a hurry as winter is nowhere near over here.

I'm itching to start pruning clems and hacking ornamental grasses and sowing seeds but I know it's far too early for my garden.  I'm also working on ways to tell OH I want to move my wee greenhouse from the back of the house to a sunnier spot without getting a divorce and so I can build cold frames and a bigger potting bench in its place.

Ha ha Obbelix, my OH and yours sound similar!   ;D ;D

My project today was marking out an extension to the veg patch hopefully small enough he won't notice (if I dig it in a hurry) and large enough to make a difference!  It has grown incrementally in this way over years.  Shame you can't do that with a greenhouse/cold frames!!
