Help with loading songs onto my iPod Nano

I'm hoping somebody can help me with the process of loading additional songs onto my Nano (6th generation)  I've got a playlist but when I first loaded it, I missed off an album I wanted to also include.  I assumed I could just tick the box and load it on top of what I'd already done.  Wrong! It wiped off everything else and just put that one album on!  Loaded up the playlist again this evening and it said it had trouble loading five particular tracks and therefore left them off - so again, I want to try re-loading them but don't want to wipe off the twenty or so albums that are already on there!!  How do I add additional songs/albums, please?  It's making me more than a little frustrated not being able to find a solution in the menus (am I being dense, because I just can't see it!) Thank you.

So do you have all your music in the 'library' and then a separate playlist?

Erm, I'm not sure that I have a playlist.  So far I've ticked all of the albums that I want to add to it and then used the sync button to get them on there.  That's as far as I've got, LOL!

Edit:  Have now sussed out how to make my own playlists!

Well, once you've moved the songs you want from your library to your playlist, ie the ones you want on your ipod meantime, then you go to sync and sync the playlist you want to sync.  That should work.  Afraid I can't remember the exact directions as it's a wee while since I've done mine, but let me know if you don't have success and I'll sync my own ipod and get the exact directions for you.  I can only do this as I've got two teenage daughters to help me!!!  I really struggled with it to start with, but can now manage it a bit, though I'm no expert.  Good luck.

Hi Lizann, thanks for the info.  Fraid I'm still a bit baffled here though, lol.  I've managed to create a library by ticking all of the albums I want and that's ok, I've used the sync and got them all on the nano (but still can't work out how to add additional tracks without wiping off current list) I've also made some playlists but it's not giving me the option to save or sync them - there's no sync button appearing when I have a playlist on screen.  Anyway, thanks again, I'm sure it's just a case of spending a while playing with all the settings! ;D
