Started off in an unused border/never been watered - what is it?

Could be cauli..leave looks very much like it.. But then again, could be mongrel brassica. Have you left any brassicas to seed stage in a last year or so?

Looks very much like a purple sprouting broc to me  :)

Sorry folks,
I had so much of a problem posting two pics. that I failed to mention that this plant is in a greenhouse border.
As I said - never been watered, but it IS in the way!

plainleaf

what variety of cauliflower is it.

goodlife

Have you planted it or has it just appeared on its own?

Either you've spilt a little seed, in which case you can probably work it out, or it's self-seeded, in which case it could be any sort of mix. They hybridise like mad when they get the chance. That said, not so many people leave brassicas to go to seed. Unless you've got them flowering on a neglected plot nearby, they usually come true.

goodlife,
Yes it just appeared in the unused side of the greenhouse. I'll have dig it up, just amazed that it's survived!
Thanks for your replies.
