Magnolia

I have a Stellata growing in my front lawn, but it hasn't even thought about producing buds yet.
Is it because I haven't given it any Miracid since last Spring & if I gave it some now, would that kick it into action?

I have one of the Other Magnolia (I have a way with names...) types, also in my fornt lawn. I live in London and it's buds are teeeny at the moment.
